Ed Underwood
Teacher ~ Pastor ~ Author
Ed is widely considered one of the most biblically-centered and entertaining speakers. His audiences are challenged to lean into the grace of God, creatively develop and execute exactly how to practically live out of who they are in Christ, and understand the stories of those God is asking them to influence for Christ with expectant passion. Ed’s teaching on how grace works in life, the church, and the world has deeply influenced pastors, leadership teams, and thousands who have attended his conferences or listened to his sermons on the radio or online.
Ed lives in SoCal with his wife, Judy. Their three adult children walk with God and Ed and Judy spoil their nine grandchildren without apology.
Ed is Executive Officer and Lead Counselor of Recentered Group and every year helps dozens of churches get healthy and thrive by loving one another in ways that build a high trust leadership culture and by equipping leaders to cultivate a disciple making community. Ed brings over forty years of experience as a lead pastor in a traditional denominational church in the Midwest, a church plant that grew into the largest church in the county in the Northwest, and his last 21 years as lead pastor of the historic Church of the Open Door in Southern California.
Ed has authored three books: When God Breaks your Heart, Reborn to Be Wild, and The Trail. He’s currently working on a new book to be published by NavPress in 2020.
MEN’S RETREATS
Some have remarked that this is my wheelhouse. That doesn’t surprise me since I spent a good portion of my life as a fireman for the US Forest Service and an officer in the United States Army. I’ve been discipling and leading men for my entire Christian life, and I love a weekend away with a group of men who want to know how to live for Jesus in this broken world.
Here are just a few of the titles from the men’s retreats I’ve taught over the years:
